About New York University’s Public Humanities Initiative in Doctoral Education
Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Public Humanities Initiative in Doctoral Education prepares New York University humanities PhD students for a wide array of career paths both within and beyond academia. Throughout their years of doctoral education, the Initiative equips students to engage with a variety of publics.
The Initiative consists of three components – courses, workshops, and working fellowships – designed to be comprehensive and complementary. Students may participate in any or all and can incorporate them into their courses of study without impeding their completion of the degree.
