Dear GSAS students,
I hope you and yours are well as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold. We in GSAS remain committed to easing the stresses engendered by the crisis in whatever way we can, and will soon be in touch with plans for extending financial support to some students whose courses of study have been most severely affected.
In the meantime, I write to inform you that GSAS will be extending by one year the deadline for resolving Incomplete grades assigned in fall 2018 and afterward, and that we are also encouraging faculty to be as accommodating as possible in assigning Incompletes during this challenging period. We expect that these steps will in some degree relieve the pressures faced by so many of our students at present, and hope that you will find them helpful as the end of the semester approaches.
If you have any questions about these policy modifications, feel free to contact Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs Allan Corns (allan.corns@nyu.edu). Stay tuned for my forthcoming communications, and please stay safe and healthy.
All best,
Phillip Brian Harper
Dean, Graduate School of Arts and Science
