As you will have seen from President Hamilton's announcement, the University is closing its Student Resident Halls. Contrary to what was communicated earlier by the Office of Residential Life and Housing, GSAS students living in Washington Square Village and Stuyvesant Town are not required to vacate their residences. Indeed, we know that many of our students are committed to maintaining their research programs and otherwise furthering their academic work from within New York City. For help in navigating the barriers to these objectives posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As President Hamilton also noted, remote instruction at NYU will now continue through the end of the spring 2020 semester. I greatly appreciate how fully GSAS students have risen to the occasion of this change in pedagogic mode--not only in the courses for which they are enrolled, but also in those that they are teaching. We will soon communicate further about the various ramifications of this development for the GSAS community. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy, and enjoy whatever semblance of Spring Break you are able to muster during this difficult time.
