Overview
The Graduate School of Arts and Science will be offering four language courses for reading knowledge this summer. These courses are designed to give you the skills necessary to conduct research in French, German, Italian, or Spanish. They will focus on reading knowledge of the language only. No prior knowledge of the language is required. Classes will be conducted in English and the readings will be tailored toward individual student research needs.
Courses will be held during the first summer session from Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 to Thursday, July 2nd, 2020 and will meet three times a week for two hours per course meeting. If you wish to participate in this program, you must commit to attending ALL course meetings. The course will appear on your transcript, will carry zero credit, and will be graded on a pass/fail basis.
How to Enroll
Enrollment in these courses is through an application process. Because of the time commitment involved, you may apply for only ONE of the language courses. Students wishing to enroll must fill out the application found here.
The deadline for applications is Friday, April 24, 2020. You will be notified of the admissions decision by the department, and if you are accepted, you will receive a registration code to enroll in the course through Albert.
