We used computational tools to analyze how SARS-CoV-2 interacts with different animal species at the molecular level. We examined pigs, dogs, cats, and various primates. Our results can be found here.

This work was in collaboration with the anthropology department. It's important to understand how infectious SARS-CoV-2 is among various populations of primates. Transferring the virus to these primates could lead to devastating consequences for the species.
We looked at one of the proteins that SARS-CoV-2 interacts with and its key differences across several species of primates. Using a computational approach, we were able to identify which species are most susceptible to this virus. This information will be used to modify how we interact with these species during the course of the pandemic.
