Jacqueline Bishop To Represent U.S. At UNESCO in Paris
Jacqueline Bishop (GSAS '98, '00), who has been a Fulbright Scholar in Morocco during the 2008-2009 academic year, has been chosen to represent the United States at UNESCO in Paris for 8 months. This honor is given to only one Fulbright Scholar per year from a pool of applicants in 141 countries around the world. Jacqueline, who is originally from Jamaica, is a graduate of NYU's Creative Writing program. She is the author of The River's SongMy Mother Who is Me: Life Stories of Jamaican Women In New York, as well as Fauna, a collection of poems. She is also the founder of "Calabash: A Journal of Caribbean Arts and Letters," a journal based at NYU.
