Humanities Initiative Fellowships for 2010-11
The Humanities Initiative, in its second year at 20 Cooper Square, is now inviting proposals for fellowships available to full-time faculty and Ph.D. students at NYU. Six faculty and three graduate students will have the opportunity to spend the 2010-11 academic year as fellows at the Initiative. In addition to receiving support for their research, they will meet weekly for lunch discussions and will thus form the core of a vibrant intellectual community engaging a variety of issues in the humanities at NYU.
We encourage you to apply, as well as to drop by our offices on the 5th floor of 20 Cooper Square for further information about our fellowships program and the many events we host during the year. Please share this announcement with colleagues and graduate students at NYU who may be interested. Be sure to check out our website at www.humanitiesinitiative.org for updates, applications, and the biographies and projects of this year's fellows.
FACULTY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
Offering faculty the possibility of a reduced teaching and administrative load during the award year, these fellowships aim to facilitate research and exchange in the humanities. They are also invited to participate in and coordinate other Initiative events during the year.

Level of Funding
The teaching load of Faculty Fellows will be reduced by up to two courses. Fellows’ remaining course load will be two or more courses, and must include one undergraduate course.
