Vielka Holness, Director of the Master's College, announces the Exchange Program for Master’s Students, Student Resource Center, Travel Grant News, and Drop-in Hours. University of Cape Town Exchange Program in Diversity Studies The New York University - University of Cape Town Student Exchange program encourages NYU students to pursue coursework and conduct research at the University of Cape Town which hosts a graduate program in Diversity Studies.  Students may study at the University of Cape Town during 1st semester (February through June) or 2nd semester (July through December).  Applications are available at the GSAS website together with information materials which detail the application procedure and timeline, areas of study, courses and academic status, and financial costs.  The deadline for submission of applications for study during the 1st semester is October 15, 2008.  For complete details, please view the website University of Cape Town Exchange Program in Diversity Studies

Student Resource Center
The Student Resource Center is open this summer and continues to expand. The new Student Resource Center contains a variety of resources for master's students including conference notices; scholarship, fellowship and grants information; on and off campus scholarly events notices; part-time and full-time job postings; a small seating area and snacks. The library for the Student Resource Center contains information about professional development, funding graduate study and exploring doctoral programs.  It is located on the 2nd floor of 6 Washington Square North.  For complete details, click here.

Travel Grants
Master's students are eligible for travel grants. Students who present invited papers or posters at scholarly or professional conferences may apply for these grants to support travel, lodging and related expenses. Following a long-standing series of discussions about financial aid within FAS that have taken place informally and formally among faculty, students, and administrators, Dean Catharine R.
