Follow up message regarding Graduate Student Payment PoliciesPrinter Friendly Printer Friendly

I am now forwarding to you another message from Martin S. Dorph, Senior Vice President for Finance & Budget and Anthony P. Jiga, Vice President for Budget & Planning about graduate student stipend payment policies. GSAS will be working with programs about the appropriate designee to whom complaints should be initially addressed. These policies, and the implementation procedures announced in the message, are an important step forward, and I am sure that we all welcome them.

Best wishes,

Kate

Graduate Student Stipend Payment Policies

As a follow-up to my notice of February 13, 2008, I would like to announce that the new procedure to follow in the event of a missing check has been implemented.

In the event of an incorrect payment, students should first refer their problem to their school's designee (which may be a department or school level administrator). If the matter is not adequately resolved at the school level, the Payroll Department of the Controller's Division has been designated as a liaison to investigate the matter.

A unique email account for Graduate Student Payment issues and a Help Line telephone number have been set up to expedite any concerns Graduate Students have about payments. The Payroll Department will guarantee a response within 24 hours of the inquiry.

Email: GradStudentPay@nyu.edu
Telephone: (212) 998-2940

Once the transaction has been resolved, the Payroll Department will arrange for a check to be issued within 2 days of the resolution.
