New York City is a dynamic and exciting place in which to live and go to school. However, we know it can be daunting to think about finding a place to live here. The following links are intended to help you with your search.

General information about housing can be found on the NYU web page at www.nyu.edu/housing. The majority of GSAS students live off campus. The NYU Off-Campus Housing Office is an excellent resource when looking for an apartment. They help students navigate the market by providing resources and guidance about the process of renting an apartment.

NYU graduate housing is very limited and available on a waitlist basis only. When selecting students from the waitlist, the Graduate School gives priority to international students and to students who have a permanent United States address that is more than 35 miles from NYU.

To apply for housing through the waitlist:
  • complete the online application form via https://home.nyu.edu/
  • scroll to the bottom of the page and click on housing forms
  • on the current available forms page click on Fall 2008 GRADUATE waitlist application

Please note that the waitlist application will not be available until May 7th, 2008. If you are interested in being placed on the waitlist, you will be required to pay a $100 non-refundable application fee. If you are assigned housing you will be notified by email during the summer, hopefully by late July/early August (although it is possible the decision will be made even later).

To gain access to the off-campus housing listings and the waitlist application you will need to have a NetID and your University ID number.

If you have any questions, please contact Graduate Enrollment Services at gsas.admissions@nyu.edu. We look forward to meeting you in September.
