Opportunities provided by GSC:

1. Representation at three levels within NYU:
a) The University level via the University Senate, the Student Senators Council and the University Committee on Student Life.
b) The GSAS level via the Graduate Student Council.
c) The Departmental level via the Departmental Administrator.

2. Grants for student organizations within departments. These grants support initiatives that augment students’ academic experience at NYU including student journals, lectures and conferences.

Responsibilities for Departmental Representatives:

1. Represent the students in your departments and provide feedback to GSC regarding your constituents’ interests.

2. Attend monthly GSC meetings.

3. Prepare end of year budget report for GSC. This is used to assist GSC in making subsequent grant disbursals.
