A Master of Arts degree in Hispanic literature and a Master of Arts degree in Hispanic culture are offered in Madrid. Graduate students wishing to pursue their M.A. in Madrid during the academic year may complete their course work in two semesters. The formal requirements for completion of the degree in Madrid include Research Methods and Textual Analysis G95.9991 and a master's essay (tesina). The program is given under the direct supervision of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Literatures and the New York University resident director in Madrid. Students who complete the M.A. in Madrid are not automatically accepted into the Ph.D. program in New York.
