Program Overview
The Graduate School of Arts and Science is Accepting Applications to the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program
The PMF Program is designed to attract to the Federal service outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths who have a clear interest in, and commitment to, excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs.
This rigorous two-year paid program includes 160 hours of formal classroom training, challenging assignments, potential for accelerated promotions, developmental assignments, and networking opportunities. Fellows are hired by Federal Agencies and engage in solving domestic and/or international issues in areas such as public administration, technology, science, criminal justice, health, and financial management, to name a few.

Submission Instructions and Deadline
For the PMF Class of 2010, students who complete a graduate degree (master’s, law, or doctoral level degree) during the 2009-2010 academic year (September 1, 2009 - August 31, 2010) are eligible for consideration. Applicants will be reviewed by a GSAS selection committee and nominated according to the following criteria: breadth and quality of accomplishments, capacity for leadership, and commitment to excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs.
Interested applicants must submit their application online to the PMF program and in hard copy to Kathleen T. Talvacchia, Assistant Dean, Graduate School of Arts and Science, Office of Academic and Student Life, One-half Fifth Avenue, Garden Level. Applications must be received in GSAS by October 15, 2009. Please note: The Fellowship has a narrow timeline from opening of application to deadline, thus limiting NYU’s ability to accept applications beyond this date.
